Louge – May 8, 2012 – By Lancelot

Headed out to get some chocolate croissants from Le Fornil Chamoniard, a bakery in Chamonix. Delicious! After breakfast we drove to the Louge, a roller coaster that dad read about in Rick Steve’s Traveling France. The Louge is not open till two in the afternoon! We continued exploring Chamonix and posed for pictures with statues of mountain men.

After our photo shoot we discovered a cheese shop that sold a lot more than just cheese! They sold fresh pasta, huge cuts of meat, endless links of sausages, local wine, and of course cheese! Lunch wasn’t as exiting as the store, but Gelato followed….yum!

Hungry?

Thirsty?

Around two we drove back to the roller coaster. Juni says the roller coaster was “dare devilish and extremely awesome.” My favorite thing about the ride was the brake that allowed you to control the speed….of course I never used it!

On yeah!

We spent the rest of the afternoon resting at our campsite. Dinner that night was FABULOUS!  “Creperie” is the restaurant where we ate the Cheese fondue followed by a cheese grain that dad has promised to replicate at home.
