Driving to Amsterdam – August 4 and August 5, 2012 – By Lancelot

We are on  the road to Amsterdam.  Along the route we cross a long bridge that goes from Malmo to the  capital of Denmark, Copenhagen. After crossing the bridge we park our car and walk to the city square.

The first place we see is the City hall.

It does not cost anything to go inside the City Hall, so we go in and find a beautiful old room full of antique chairs and a mega cool glass ceiling.

Inside City Hall

Outside the city hall is a mega, mega cool fountain with what looks like a bull killing a dragon….at least that is what it looks like to me.

We hike over to Christiansborg castle.

Outside the castle

Outside of the castle you will find several amazing fountains, and really beautiful grounds.  We also hiked to the harbor to see the statue of the Little Mermaid.

It is getting late so we have to get back to the car and get back on the road to Amsterdam.

On the 5th we continue the drive towards Amsterdam.  Finally we are able to drive faster because we are on the German autobahn.  The only time we stop today is to edit pictures on the iPad  because we are starting to run out of storage space. After that we continue the drive towards Amsterdam and stop at a truck stop out side Cologne and plan to drive to Amsterdam in the morning.
