We spent most of the day driving around Provence and admiring the lush and beautiful scenery.
That afternoon we stopped by the town of Arles, which lays claim to some of the best Roman ruins outside of Italy. We walked by the ancient Roman theater, visited the plaza, and enjoyed some delicious ice cream.
A unique characteristic of this French town is the existence of bullfights. Due to the proximity of these provincial towns to Spain, bullfighting is a part of the local culture. Of course it is slightly toned down in France, you only see posters about fights on every corner.
