In the morning we took the gondola up to the mountain town of Gimmenwald, Rick Steve’s said it was the best Swiss alps town in the Oberland region. The town was definitely not overrated.
As soon as we stepped off the gondola we found ourselves in a epic playground! The swing set had the alps as it’s backdrop.
We explored the town, bought some local alpine cheese, and just enjoyed the view! We spent the rest of the morning exploring other towns further up the mountain. For lunch we took the gondola back down to Gimmenwald and ate at their only restaurant. The porch was overlooking the alps, and the food was amazing!
On our way out of the Oberland region we saw a guy just cooking rotisserie chicken outside a gas station. We stopped and bought some of his fare and he stuffed half a chicken in a bag with a pretzel. Definitely one of the best things I’ve ever ate!
That evening we explored Luzern, and walked across the ancient bridges and hidden plazas
